  • Former British & Commonwealth record holder at 800mts, 1000mts, 1500mts & Mile.
  • First British woman to run under 2 minutes for 800mts.
  • She ran at 4 Commonwealth Games including Gold in the 1500 metres in 1982
  • She competed in 3 Olympic Games achieving 4th in the 1500m in 1988 just missing a medal in Seoul by a few tenths of a second!

  • Silver medal at the Commonwealth Games
  • Two European Cup bronze medals
  • Part of the GB Hockey Team at the Beijing Olympic Games in which the team came a highly credible 6th
  • In total Rachel has won 140 caps for her country.

Olympic Development Programme

  • First performance at senior level was at the World Track Championships in Manchester in 2008.
  • Being called up to the senior squad was a remarkable achievement in itself in only her second year as a junior on the Olympic Development Programme.
  • Won both the junior Keirin and the 500m at the 2008 European Track Championships in Poland. 
  • Manchester World Cup in 2008; Gold medal with Anna Blyth in the team sprint
  • At only 18 years of age, Jess is one of Britain’s brightest track sprint prospects of the future.

  • 2007 he was in the U18 International representation at the Junior World Rowing Championships in Beijing, where he came 7th.
  • He is currently one of the Lloyds TSB’s Local Hero’s which is an initiative to support more of Britain’s genuine young sporting hopefuls when they need it most
