Improving health and wellbeing

The Health and Social Care Board's key role is to promote opportunities for the joint planning, commissioning and provision of services across health and social care.

This is a complex area. It involves both social services and the health service. There are a huge range of plans concerned with health and social care issues, and the role of the theme group is to bring these together as strategically as possible.

Members of the theme group come from a wide range of health and social care services. The chair is rotated between Chairs of NHS bodies (Mental Health Partnership Trust, Primary Care Trusts, Acute Trusts, etc) and the County Council.
